It is with great pleasure we invite you to the Chain and Forge at Granville Island for Amexem Roots Rock Reggae Cultural Society’s presentation, Vancity Roots and Culture Experience in honour of the 126th birthday of His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I, the celebrated Emperor of Ethiopia.

Vancity Roots and Culture Experience is a FREE interactive reggae, hip-hop, soul and R&B music jam featuring some of the best seasoned and up and coming local artists Vancouver has to offer. While celebrating the Earthstrong (birthday) of Emperor Haile Selassie I of Ethiopia under the red, gold and green banner, participants will get a taste of the cultural experience rooted in reggae music, most notably the One Love philosophy propagated by music legend Bob Marley and dozens of other reggae greats over the years.

The Earthstrong of Haile Selassie I is celebrated by thousands of Rastafarians all over the world and is a remembrance of the Emperor’s commitment to peace, unity and freedom for all human beings regardless of ethnicity or economic status.
